She was easy to spot in her pink helmet in the Learn to Play Program and loved to play hockey with her friends. The 2019 House League tournament was dedicated in Layla’s honor, with her name on the winning trophies and medals. The foundation is offering a scholarship to cover tuition for the current session of Learn to Play hockey for a new or returning skater between ages 4-10 years old. She quickly moved up to advanced classes for her age, and became quite the cartwheel expert. As a three year old, a month shy of four years old, she did 14 cartwheels in one minute in the Annual Cartwheel-A-Thon fundraiser. Planet Gymnastics has done several fundraisers in Layla’s name, including last year’s Cartwheel-A-Thon and Trunk or Treat. This scholarship will cover the cost of tuition for one year for a new or continuing student who will be 4 by September 8, 2020.
